A person who plans to engage in a training or find a job in a field qualified for a visa of Professor(E-1), Foreign Language Instructor(E-2), Research(E-3), Technical Instructor/Technician(E-4), Professional(E-5), Artist/Athlete(E-6), and Foreign National of Special Ability(E-7)- The activities not only include a job seeking or on-the-job training (including short-term paid internship) at an organization or company in ROK * The activities related to Artist/Athlete(E-6) status only includes pure art or sports, and excludes adult entertainment businesses.

교수(E-1)ㆍ회화지도(E-2)ㆍ연구(E-3)ㆍ기술지도(E-4)ㆍ전문직업(E-5)ㆍ예술흥행(E-6)*ㆍ특정활동(E-7) 자격에 해당하는 분야에 취업하기 위해 연수나 구직활동 등을 하려는 자 - 국내 기업, 단체 등에서 행하는 구직활동 뿐만 아니라 정식 취업 전에 연수비를 받고 행하는 단기 인턴과정도 포함됨 * 단, 예술흥행(E-6) 자격 중 유흥업소 등의 흥행활동(E-6-2)은 제외되며, 순수예술 및 스포츠 분야만 허용됨

Key rules for all residents

Alien registration within 90 days — If you stay more than 90 days, register at your local immigration office within 90 days of arrival. Not registering can lead to fines or removal. Book a visit on HiKorea.
Report a move within 15 days — Registered foreigners must report a new address within 15 days, at the community center, immigration office or HiKorea.
Extending your stay: from 4 months before expiry — Apply from 4 months before your stay ends until the expiry date (the day before, online). Late applications can be fined.
Short trips: no re-entry permit within 1 year (F-5: 2 years) — Registered foreigners who return within 1 year of leaving (or before their stay expires, if sooner) do not need a re-entry permit. Permanent residents (F-5): 2 years. Overseas Koreans (F-4): within the permitted stay. For longer trips, get a multiple re-entry permit before leaving.
Health insurance: automatic after 6 months — After registering and staying 6 months, you are automatically enrolled in National Health Insurance. D-2, F-6, F-5 and E-9 holders are enrolled at registration. Unpaid premiums can affect visa extensions.
