Jeju Biennale 2026 (until Nov 15): Tickets, Hours, Five Venues and Buses
Jeju's international art festival is in its final two weeks. The 5th Jeju Biennale, titled "Heokkeugok Modakchigok Iyahong: The Art of Transformation" (허끄곡 모닥치곡 이야홍: 변용의 기술), runs until November 15, 2026 across five venues in Jeju City. The title is Jeju dialect: to mix, to gather, and "iyahong", the refrain of a Jeju folk song. Organized by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Museum of Art, this edition looks at how culture that reached Jeju from the north, through exile, myth and stone culture, mixed with island traditions and changed.
Why it's worth a visit
- Art with a sense of place: the works deal with Jeju's myths, exile history and volcanic stone, so the show doubles as an introduction to the island beyond its beaches.
- Three venues are free: Jeju Arts Platform, Art Space IAa and Gallery Remicon in the old downtown charge nothing, and they are close to Dongmun Market.
- English website: the official site has an English version with venue addresses and bus routes from the airport.
- Last chance: the Biennale closes on November 15.

Getting there
All routes below start from bus stops at Jeju International Airport.
- Jeju Museum of Art (2894-78 1100-ro): from airport stop 6, take bus 465 or 466 to Jeju Museum of Art Entrance, then walk about 9 minutes. Public parking is available.
- Jeju Arts Platform (18 Jungang-ro 14-gil) and Art Space IAa (21 Jungang-ro 14-gil): from airport stop 3, take bus 365, 43-2, 316, 325, 370 or 465 to Gwandeokjeong, then walk about 4 minutes.
- Gallery Remicon (31 Sanji-ro): from airport stop 3, take bus 465, 466 or 315 to Tamna Plaza, then walk about 1 minute.
- Jeju Stone Park (2023 Namjo-ro, Jocheon-eup): from airport stop 1, take bus 131 to Jeju Stone Park, then walk about 6 minutes. It is the farthest venue, so give it its own half day.
Tips
- Plan by area: the museum is in Yeon-dong near the airport, and the three free venues are together downtown. Pair those two on one day, and keep Stone Park for another.
- Downtown parking is tight: the organizers warn that old-town streets are narrow. Art Space IAa has free parking behind the building, and Gallery Remicon visitors can use the paid Buksugu public parking lot across the street. The bus is easier.
- Skip Mondays: every venue is closed.
- Dress for wind: November on Jeju can be windy and cool, and you will walk between venues.
- Return buses: Stone Park is outside the city. Check your bus back in a map app before late afternoon.
Going alone?
The nearest omeetu meetup spot is Jeju City (Tapdong), a short walk from the downtown venues. Open a meetup there to find others visiting the Biennale, or join one already planned for the same day. Meet first in a busy public place, and keep chats inside the app. Teen members have limits on meetups between 22:00 and 06:00, so plan a daytime visit.
